is a novelist, freelance writer, travel blogger, and freelance independent historian. She has a Master of Arts in Bilingual Education/ESL and Reading from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a minor in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She writes articles on travel, feminism, African American culture, and education, and is especially proud of her work as a contributor to BlackPast.org, an online encyclopedia of the Black diaspora. Her work with them ranges from history (The Thibodaux Massacre) to LGBTQI+ interests (Marsha P. Johnson) to politics (Hakeem Jeffries). She has also written for Medium.com, Democrats Abroad, and various educational publications, such as KOTESOL's The English Connection and KOTESOL Journal. In 2006, she published “Mourning Becomes Her: A Novella” with the Harlem Writer’s Guild Press. She is currently an English Language Lecturer at Gyeongsang National University in South Korea.
